Clinical Supervisor/PT Peralta

Bonita House, Inc. (BHI) is a well-respected nonprofit mental health agency with multiple sites in Alameda County and an operating budget of $7.5 million. It was founded in 1971. BHI is also a social rehabilitation agency providing a full range of Medi-Cal services to adults with co-occurring serious mental health and substance use disorders. Bonita House, Inc.

 

CASA UBUNTU is funded through Alameda County’s Mental Health Services Act (Proposition 63) funding and is designed to actively outreach, engage, and provide a full range of services 100 adults in northern Alameda County who have mental health and substance abuse challenges.

Services are predominately office-based, and provide integrated substance abuse, mental health and physical health treatment.  Key features are, the partnership with clients and families, service intensity, 24/7 coverage, the foundation of wellness and recovery  principles and practices, and the commitment to do “whatever it takes,” utilizing the creativity of a multi-disciplinary, full team approach.

Position Summary:

Under the general directions of the Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor/Case Manager is responsible for providing direct services and support to Peralta members within the Creative Wellness Center.  The Clinical Supervisor/Case Manager is responsible for providing counseling, groups & intake assessments of clients.  Administer clinical supervision for the dedicated and interns.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.                   Provide clinical and outreach oversight for services

2.                   Liaison with Peralta organization  

3.                   Provide clinical supervision for Peralta dedicated team

4.                   Provide and coordinate staff training

5.                   Complete initial screenings and assessments

6.                   Provide direct services to participants with the highest clinical need

7.     Perform Case Management and stage-based dual diagnosis treatment services including integrated assessment, relapse prevention, crisis intervention, and social skills training.

8.      Utilize Solution Focused Brief therapy

9.      Conduct outreach to engage clients and enlist family support

10.   Provide psychoeducation, skills-building, and linkages to community supports

11.   Maintain appropriate clinical documentation

12.   Performs duties of mental health and substance abuse counselor.  As a member of the clinical team, coordinates treatment and services for Peralta adults,, provides ongoing assessment, counseling and intervention; establishes linkages and acts as a service broker to meet clients' comprehensive needs

13.    Provides crisis management services as needed

14.     Responsible to plan and facilitate a variety of treatment groups 

15.     Conducts intake interviews as assigned that include: community liaison functions; clinical assessments; and written documentation

16.     Additional clinical responsibilities include: formulating individual treatment plans for client caseload and providing case management services; assisting in clinical staff meetings; participating in individual supervision and group supervision; and acting as a liaison with other mental health agencies

17.     Recruit, train & supervise interns.  Clinical Supervisor/Case Manager are to keep current with legal and regulatory requirement for intern supervision.

18.        Update CLC paperwork

19.        Complete reports and evaluations for school intern placements

20.        Documentation responsibilities include writing weekly progress notes.  It is a requirement of the position that client charts be maintained in a timely way according to regulatory standards.

21.        Responsible for monitoring compliance with state and county licensing/certification requirements and specific on-site program operations as assigned

22.   Participate in planning and conducting occasional outings and holiday events

23.   Perform office management tasks as assigned.

24.    Other duties assigned by Program Director

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·         Must possess a LMFT, LPCC, LCSW or Psychologist license plus a minimum of two years supervision experience working in a community mental health program

·         Spanish speaking/bilingual persons and people with lived experience encouraged to apply.

·         Must demonstrate an ability to work both independently and as a member of the team.

·         The ability to prioritize effectively on competing demands on time.

·         Must be able to maintain flexible work schedule in accordance with client and program needs.

·         Solid written skills to meet required standards of documentation.

·         Must be able to meet Immigration Reform Act of 1986 requirements.

·         Must have valid California Drivers License and a driving record acceptable by the Agency’s insurance company.

·         Must be able to pass physical examination.

·         One year experience providing co-occurring mental health and substance abuse treatment to priority populations.
