Dual Diagnosis Residential Treatment Program
[The original "Bonita House" in Berkeley - site of the Residential Treatment Program]
Opened in 1971, the Bonita House Dual Diagnosis Residential Treatment Program supports residents through the difficult transition from severe emotional crisis to an optimum level of independent living in the community.
People come voluntarily to our program either directly from psychiatric hospitals or other community support services, while still at high risk of rehospitalization. Residents receive problem-focused individual and group counseling, drug and alcohol education, pre-vocational training, and guidance while developing social skills and self-reliance. The Residential Treatment Program treats up to 15 individuals at a time. Residents' length of stay is time-limited and based on individual needs.
