Support for Living Life on Your Own Terms
Bonita House’s Supported Independent Living (SIL) program pairs intensive case management with outpatient mental health care for adults with co-occurring disorders who are building a stable life in the community.
A Partner in Daily Life
For some, living independently requires support. Our Supported Independent Living program serves Alameda County adults managing co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges who benefit from consistent, hands-on case management alongside outpatient mental health care.
SIL assists clients in building skills that allow them to attain an optimal level of autonomy while living in the community of their choosing. Because every client’s needs are different, services are tailored to the individual and may include:
- Outpatient mental health care, including therapy and psychiatric support, medication management, crisis prevention and intervention, skills training and psychosocial rehabilitation, and behavioral rehabilitation and psychiatric medication assessment
- Case management
- Referral and benefits maintenance
Beyond clinical care, SIL supports clients in meeting basic everyday needs, including housing resources, and in finding meaningful roles and activities in the community.
Eligibility: All clients must be at least 18 years old and eligible for Medi-Cal or county-funded services.
