CalWORKs Phoenix Skills Program
Bonita House Inc.’s CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) Phoenix SKILLS Program provides services to clients and their families experiencing mental health challenges that create barriers to employment and education.
The SKILLS Program helps clients build healthy ways to manage stressors, develop skills to support their ongoing recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders, and seeks to empower clients and their families as they move towards self-sufficiency.
The CalWORKs SKILLS Program staff includes licensed clinicians, a program manager, vocational case manager, employment epecialist, and other support staff. Their variety of backgrounds and experiences in many disciplines can assist clients in exploring, creating, and attaining their life and work goals.
CalWORKs Phoenix Skills Program Offers:
- Mental health and substance use counseling .
- Help to identify strengths and work interests .
- Guidance on the steps in the process that lead to a job interview .
- Support to improve concentration, motivation, and self-esteem .
- Information and access to community resources to support and maintain mental health .
- Support for gaining or furthering education .
- Help to attain your fullest potential: vocationally, socially, and emotionally.
Eligibility
Must be an Alameda County resident enrolled in CalWORKs
